When Images Are Not Allowed…
…it is often perfectly acceptable to showcase ideas through physical models. However, since these can quickly become cost-prohibitive, K18 was tasked with creating visualizations that mimic physical architectural models. We achieved this by using the same materials, scale figures, photography techniques, and model-building strategies employed by professional model makers.
This approach not only proves to be a cost-effective way to convey architectural ideas in a format familiar to the profession but has also been successfully applied in other contexts, such as studies, city planning proposals, or when details have yet to be finalized—particularly in early competition stages where material decisions are still pending.
